What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?I graduated from the best coach training program in our industry, Accomplishment Coaching. (They currently provide internal coach training for leaders at the UN in NYC) which allowed me to work with tomorrow’s leaders in the world of Finance.

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting gave me the jump-start I needed into the “real world” of business.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
Immediately after graduation, College Works Painting was the reason I was offered the outside sales position I took. Since then, it helped me look back on what I was capable of and realize I could do whatever I wanted. I’m definitely in the position I am now thanks to my College Works Painting experience.
What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?
My clients were awesome. I was incredibly grateful for the faith they placed into me and my crews. I don’t think they fully understood what their contribution was to me as a person and leader over those two summers. Those experiences helped me see that most people are really caring and just want to be treated with respect.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
I learned about communicating with people. That is by far the biggest takeaway that I use every day.
How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?
I have been in people’s weddings, created friendships that still are a big part of my life. I was never in a fraternity while in school, but I imagine this is what it would have been like. (You know with a little less partying together and a lot more work lol)
If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?
Training the leaders of tomorrow, one day at a time.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Don’t go into things blind. That being said, you’ll never achieve anything without a little faith. You’ll never have it all figured out, and that’s ok. Have faith in yourself. You are awesome if you’re even being considered for this position. And if not now to take the leap, . . when?
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
I work with adults (mostly in their 40’s-50’s) who are starting their first or second business. They will all tell you that after the first job or two, not much of that matters. People can tell if you are right for a job. I say whatever builds the most life experience and character.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Do your research. Be very clear on why/how you want to work with people.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
I loved our first trip to Windsor, Canada. I was surrounded by people who I didn’t know well and after that weekend we became good friends. It really captured the essence and the gravity of what we were doing as college students.
