What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?I am most proud of two things post College Works Painting. One would be watching the people I have impacted go off and get awesome jobs or succeed within College Works Painting after promotions, and my second is just getting offered jobs at multiple companies within 2 weeks of applying for jobs. No better feeling to know your hard work paid off.
College Works Career Impact
In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting has been the craziest growth and learning experience I could have asked for and it allowed me the chance to learn what I was capable of while working with people that will be my life long friends.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
I was able to gain a high level of management and leadership and that autonomy and experience was viewed very positively by potential employers. Their mouths dropped when I explained my experience at College Works Painting. (in a good way)
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
The biggest lesson I learned from my experience at College Works Painting was to be the most badass version of yourself all the time because people will then want to follow you. Be confident, go after what you want, and don’t give up until you get there. Then reach higher.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Do something different in college and challenge yourself! For interns you have to give 100% of your effort and have fun while doing it and I guarantee you will be smiling in the end. This is a once in a lifetime, life changing experience that you will remember 10…20…40 years from now. So go after it!
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Be fearless in college with the opportunities you come across because no matter where you work after college it will be scary, because its new. The more things you do outside of your comfort zone the better prepared you will be when you apply to jobs. I applied to a tech company with ZERO tech experience but had enough experience in general that I was confident regardless of lack of tech background. College works gave me the people skills, sales experience and confidence to go after any job I wanted, knowing I would kill it anywhere I went.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
Cancun and sharing it with all these people I became really close with. To celebrate your hard work and success in a place like that is unforgettable.
Last words of wisdom?
Don’t be afraid. There are successful people in the world because they take risks in life. Sometimes they fail and sometimes they succeed, but you can’t succeed unless you try.
