In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting has been a powerful and impactful experience that has taught me the discipline, sacrifice, and determination it takes to be successful that I have applied in my life that has directly led me to the level of success I have today.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
My resume (having run a 600K business over 3 years) put me leagues ahead of people my age and helped me get a job out of college that the employer told me they rarely ever offer to graduates. It also developed my interview skills and relational skills that helped me stand apart from the competition. This position was ranked by Glassdoor as one of the Top 10 most difficult job interview processes in the country.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Keep the BIG PICTURE at the forefront of your mind. No matter what job you get, career you have, relationship you’re in, etc. you will always allow yourself to get bogged down with the monotonous tasks, bad days, and details if you do not keep your eyes on the GOAL! Know what your dreams are and pursue them with every fiber in your body.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Potential College Works Painting participants: DO IT!!! Do the internship if you are the type of person that has high goals for themselves, needs to break outside the box and their comfort zones and TRULY want to achieve success in their lives and not just “say” they do. Current College Works Painting participants: Focus on your dreams, understand where College Works Painting plays a part in those dreams, and pursue every single day with enthusiasm and passion that will result in attaining those dreams!
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
CANCUN BABY!!! Honestly…just sitting on the beach in the evening after dinner listening to the waves crash against the sand…sounds romantic right? Just an awesome moment when you’ve realized that you are a BOSS!!!
Last words of wisdom?
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of Righteousness, and all of these things shall be added unto you” – Find God first! Do His will and do everything for Him and He will give you the desires of your heart – the nice home, the nice car, etc.
