What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?My proudest accomplishment thus far, is being able to create successful businesses that have allowed me the autonomy to pursue my passions in life.
College Works Career Impact
In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
Having run a multi-million dollar company while being a full-time student at UC Davis, College Works Painting helped push me to the limits of what I was capable of, setting the bar the what my expectation for my career were going forward in life.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
College Works Painting can be both a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it. After graduating from college and finishing my time with College Works Painting, when I looked at what I wanted to do from there, there really wasn’t a job that I could find that didn’t feel like I was moving backwards. I was basically over qualified, at 22, for any job that someone would want to hire me for. As a result, I started my own real estate investment company immediately out of college.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
By far the greatest lesson I learned from College Works Painting is how to build a solid team, and then to work with that team to achieve a common goal.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Look around the room at training, most of those people you see there will not make it through the summer. If you work hard and make it through the program, you will have a huge leg up on all of your peers, no matter what field you go into after college.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks. As far as real estate goes, buy when there is blood on the streets.
