College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

To me College Works Painting has meant confidence.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

College Works Painting gave me a tremendous amount of confidence and separated me from my peers. If you want to get into sales, I can’t think of many better internships.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

Emotional intelligence is more important than IQ in the marketplace….at least in sales/most business functions.

How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?

Still friends with a few guys/girls.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Potential College Works Painting participants: Regardless of if you do College Works Painting or not, the quality of your internship/work experience is going to directly correlate to what opportunities you have out of college. I’m five years ahead of the vast majority of my peers as a result of my resume and this has created a snowball effect – the better I do, the more confident I become, the better opportunities I have, etc… Current College Works Painting participants: Make sure to DM for one year.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

It’s not about the industry, it’s about what you’re doing and the skills you gain. There are exceptions for some specific fields.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

Hanging out with Stewy in Park City the first year I was a DM. I thought it was so cool that I was just chillin’ with the CEO of the company.

Last words of wisdom?

Trust your gut – don’t think too much, just do.
