Conduct audits on sole-proprietors, corporations, and flow-through entities that have less than $10 million in assets. Interview clients and continuously evaluate accuracy, purpose, and intent of information provided. Evaluate internal controls, income and regularly research and apply corporate tax law. Manage inventory of clients and work in audit teams and independently. Strive to make the examination process the most positive experience for the individuals and companies that are impacted.

Getting my CPA.

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting taught me self-accountability and that you are truly in control of many of the factors that impact your life. So, take control.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

My success at College Works Painting helped me land 1 single internship position offered with the IRS that over 500 students applied for. Currently, it has helped with my ability to work with people and to sell the tax adjustments that I make while auditing.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

This internship is not going to be easy, you have to want to succeed with every fiber of your being. You will need to push yourself out of your comfort zone and be creative.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

You have to be self disciplined, motivated, confrontational when needed, and detail oriented.
