I work with a sales team doing B2B sales to large to enterprise level clients to help them reduce their telecom/utility expenses.
What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?Developing a energy consulting business based on the same principals as CWP and having the company bought out within one year.
College Works Career Impact
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
My experience with College Works Painting helped me to learn to think outside the box and work more effectively than others. College Works Painting also helped me develop my leadership, management, and communication skills to the point where I can now comfortably work with my elder peers and exceed expectations.
What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?
I can’t remember the specific clients name, but I do remember they were very easy to sell, and work with, and were one of my very first jobs. Working with them really helped me be confident in my ability to run a business from the start, and the skill has followed me further in my professional career.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
The greatest thing I ever learned from College Works Painting was how to effectively communicate with people.
How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?
Some of my very best friends are people I had the opportunity to work with over the years at College Works Painting. I have traveled across the country a few times to visit my former College Works Painting friends, and have also been in a few weddings.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Be open to coaching and learning, and never look back. For current College Works Painting participants I would tell them to never stop learning.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
I think it is very important to have very diverse internship experiences. I would highly recommend people to work at least one year doing a very challenging internship like College Works Painting to be able to make mistakes, and learn from experiences. I would also recommend some industry experience, but I think it would be better served after doing a business type internship.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
My favorite memory from College Works Painting was my first DM year traveling across the country and helping 7 interns run a business for the very first time.
