Playing on 2 amateur golf tours at the same time while taking 22 college credit hours, and earning a 3.75 GPA, making the Dean’s List and having 5 Top 3 finishes on those 2 amateur tours (one being the overall tournament champion).

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
The secret to success is getting started.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
Because of my College Works Painting experience, I was able to easily obtain interviews and I had the ability to CHOOSE what industry/career I wanted to pursue based on my experience.
What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?
Audrey Dorris (2008). I was honored to be told that I had given her trust back in the painting industry. That has driven me, to this day, to go out and show others that they can count on people(complete strangers) to be reliable and/or trustworthy.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Two lessons: 1) It’s not WHO you know or WHAT you know, but what you do with WHO you know and WHAT you know. 2) Do what you HAVE to do now so that you can everything you WANT to do later.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Never be to afraid to ask for help, and never be to proud to think that you don’t need it. No one is perfect, but with the right mentoring and support you can get closer to it everyday. Always have an open mind and be ready to learn how you can make yourself better.
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
Seek help when needed, you’re in this to better yourself but you’re not in it by yourself.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
It allows you to have options. The concepts, skills, and knowledge gained by enveloping yourself in something such as college works is extremely useful due to the fact that all of it is applicable to multiple industries/careers not just one function or position.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
First night in Cancun meeting interns, DM’s, VP’s and other Execs from every part of the country. Made me realize that I wasn’t just building a business throughout College Works but a network of close friends as well.
Last words of wisdom?
Challenge yourself to change for the better, but more importantly don’t be afraid of that change. If you are, it will never happen.
