What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
The fact that I could go into stressful situations and things that I wasn’t normally use to. I was really able to deal with it and be effective with solving problems, managing people, and doing things I had never done before that were completely out of my realm of thinking before and then I became good at them. I developed most at my ability to be confident and going into talking to people that I dont, know, managing people, encouraging employees, become more of a leader and someone people look up to.
How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?
My favorite part about working with College Works Painting is the people that I’ve meant during the program, amazing culture and people that are going to be really good, life long friends, learning from them and growing with them is a really amazing experience.
Advice
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
I am going into architecture, so running a painting business doesn’t really relate to that, but it relates to me in the fact that I want to be a leader when I go into my field and want to be the person that people look up to and get inspired by. This program really helped me realize how to be that person and how to be the person that is the best at what they do. Overall my experience was the most fulfilling thing that I have done and one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I wouldn’t trade anything because it made me into who I am today.
