In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting was the hardest and most fulfilling summer of my life at the same time.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
College Works Painting taught me the value of a hard work ethic. During the early stages of my career, it was by far the most important experience on my resume. Nowadays, I always fall back on my experience at College Works Painting and realize that if I can get through a College Works Painting summer, I can do anything.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
In order to have a successful and manageable business, you need to work extremely hard at the beginning to lay the appropriate ground work.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Understand that the early stages of the internship are difficult, but the benefits (both financially and for your career) are 100% worth it. Also, learn to work smarter instead of harder.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Get as much face-to-face sales experience as you can while in school, and understand what exactly you are looking for in a job out of college.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
Being a part of the Go Big club. Also, my first 5,000 check was pretty awesome.
