College Works Painting is an exhaustive, but invaluable learning experience.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
College Works Painting distinguished me from other applicants for my current MSc Assistantship. Thus Grad School is free. Additionally, it has given me credentials to secure a job after my graduation (May 2015) in sales/business development for a Aquaculture Biofilter producing firm.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Working hard pays off: Work Hard Play Hard!
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Potential College Works Painting participants: Be ready, you’ll grow and learn more about yourself in 7 months than in you have in your life to date. Current College Works Painting participants: If you haven’t tasted success yet, don’t worry, it will come. Try different ways to go about the 100K triangle and learn from what others are doing. It behooves you to stay away from the “poorer areas” and to go on Zillow to find the higher income newer construction homes.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Develop a lust for learning and satisfy it in diverse ways. Set goals that push your boundaries and in working towards them you will learn. Work, therefore, will quench your yearn to learn, enabling a seemingly effortless path to reach your goals. Attaining the inherent and addictive satisfaction that follows achieving goals will ultimately immerse you into a virtuous cycle of true success.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
Go Kart Racing with the High Rollers Club was a BLAST, but the whole experience was memorable!
Last words of wisdom?
This has been nostalgic. I kind of want to get back into College Works Painting.
