In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting taught me how to lead and the fact that my only limitations are the ones that I put on myself.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
My College Works Painting experience was a springboard to my career. Leadership is a universal skill and I will always carry that with me.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Don’t be afraid to fail. True failure only occurs when you stop trying.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Make your decision for the right reasons. Opportunity is an amazing thing but it does not come easy. There may be 50 obstacles sitting right in front of you. All you need to find is 1 solution. Live this mindset and nothing will stop you from reaching your goals. When you finish the program you will appreciate the fun times but more so the difficult ones, the ones that teach you the lessons that you will carry through your career and your life.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
The summer payrolls (paintball, canoeing, etc.) and Cancun, which is probably still the best 4 days of my life. It was a Hollywood-like experience made all the more sweet by the fact that I earned every moment of it.
Last words of wisdom?
HAVE FUN! Enjoy your successes and don’t take your failures too seriously. Never forget the ‘why’ that is the reason you joined College Works Painting. It will carry you to the finish line and beyond.
