I negotiate contracts with Golf Courses, Sell Memberships to Individuals, Generate partnerships in golf and other similar industries. Veritiv: Manage $110M book of business globally in Asia, North America, and Europe. I have 8 sales members who work for me and I drive the global message across all regions. “

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting gave me the selling skills foundation that I use everyday in both of my businesses.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
“As stated above College Works Painting instilled a sales passion and showed me how important it was to deliver value to customers. Creating a great customer experience generates long lasting customers who advocate for you. Immediately after graduation College Works Painting was the job experience that I had and got my foot in the door at my first career. Now: Presentation skills and confidence that were foreign to me at the time have now become second nature. I have found that instilling confidence even when you are unsure helps customers feel they are making the right choice.”
What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?
General: Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to deliver for you and make your home look beautiful. It is not easy to trust a college student with your home, but those who did gave me the confidence that I can accomplish anything in life with a little effort and determination.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Hard work pays off in the end. Cultivating leads, and working them through the process will always pay off if done properly. You wont win every time, but will win more than you lose.

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Knocking doors will teach you more about yourself than any class you take in college
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
“College Works Painting will teach you real life lessons that you do not receive in a typical internship or even in the class room. It is worth taking the chance on CWP if you have a desire to succeed in any career path. I interred with every type of college major back in 2010. Everyone that I remained close with has had a successful career. Industries include; Science, Engineering, Sales, Construction, Consulting, Start-up, Government and more. CWP will provide the skills you need to succeed. “
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
“Golf: Making the right connections is the most important aspect of this business Packaging: Hard work, follow up, and industry knowledge would be the most critical”
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
Coming back from Windsor and getting stopped by the border patrol agents. Following being released back into the US we needed to get gas so we went to the nearest gas station. The gas station attendant made it a point to let us know “Youare not in kansas anymore white boy, get out of here as fast as you can”. Needless to say we bolted after filling up the gas tank.
