Brief Description of Duties / Responsibilities:
I am responsible for everything that happens in my club. I have a manager and several employees in each of the 4 departments I oversee; Membership, Personal Training, Front Desk, and Nursery. There are two main areas that require my constant focus. First, my number one priority is taking care of our members. So long as our members are taken care of my secondary focus is acquiring, training and maintaining the best quality staff for each department and helping them achieve both personal and professional goals.
What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?Getting promoted to Club Manager after only 9 months with the company, and being the only female club manager in the company.
College Works Career Impact
In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting, (specifically Sean), taught me how to be an empathetic leader and to balance work and my personal life so that I’m happy as well as successful!
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
I don’t think I would have had the courage to try sales if I hadn’t done it with College Works Painting, and I found I was good at it. Because I did well with College Works Painting, I tried several sales jobs until I found one that combined my sales skills with my passion for helping people, and I have my dream career!
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You may feel stupid for a second, but at the end of the day, you will have gained the most knowledge and that is what will help you succeed.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
I’d give both groups the same advice: Be ready to work hard, and don’t be afraid to use your team leader…they’ve been where you are, and they succeeded!!
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Be passionate about helping people better their lives, and have a can-do no matter what attitude. If you have a tendency to blame anything other than yourself for failure, you won’t last long in this industry. However, if you love helping people, and have a great work ethic and even better attitude it’s a really rewarding field!
