In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting is a life changing experience that will have a beneficial ripple effect on all of your future endeavors. Both personally and professionally.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
College Works Painting gave me a test drive of how the real world works when I was only 18. The type of experiences I had during school were things that most college graduates were facing for the first time. Adversity, challenges, back up plans, and seeing how I reacted to failure were valuable to learn young. It helped me immediately after graduation to be on a different level than my peers going after similar positions. Resume was nice, stories and real world application was even better. Companies are looking to hire talented employees with a proven track record of how you can positively impact their business. Now, it’s been like training for a 26.2 marathon and you find out you get a golf cart the day of the race!
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Relationships are everything.

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
If you’re considering College Works Painting, make sure you go in with a goal of what you want to learn. A big picture mindset is important to stay motivated throughout College Works Painting and will be easier if you have specific skills you want to learn to develop.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
In Cancun, we rented a boat of about 30 interns and went deep sea snorkling. It was great because there were 4-5 generations of CWP DM’s and it was awesome to see the life long friendships that were developed over the years.
Last words of wisdom?
College Works Painting is an experience that you get what you put into it. Whether you do this internship to learn a skillset, resume builder, dollar sign or whatever keeps you motivated. Make sure you know that this internship is designed to help develop yourself to become successful in the future.
