In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting taught me how to be a man in the real world situations and how to treat everyone with respect.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
My College Works Painting experience changed the way I thought about my life; personally and professionally.
What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?
John Merkel was very nice and loved how College Works Painting worked and what College Works Painting was about. After the job he let me and my painters have a BBQ / swim party in his huge back yard. The job was worth 14k.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
I learned I have the tools to be a successful person in any job I want. You must have the confidence from within and College Works Painting helps you realize you have it.
How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?
Great connections,great friends, and great memories.
If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?
Work Hard. Play Harder.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
They know what they’re talking about. It is a wild ride, but you gain so much.
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
The College Works Painting internship teaches how to run your own business and everyone should learn that no matter what job you want. You can take the lessons from College Works Painting and apply them to anything you do. That’s why its so great.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
You must be able to manage your time very well and be confident in your abilities. You can never learn to much. Anyone can teach you something valuable.
What’s your favorite memory from CW?
The road trips to KC where I got to see all the other interns, hangout, trade ideas, and share advice.
