Tim McCole

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting taught me how to run business as a CEO and not to get caught up in the day to day.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

I ran a good sized business in College Works Painting, even though I didn’t do well in business school. It taught me what I liked and have done well in hospitality. More than anything it gave me confidence in my entrepreneurial ability.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

I don’t remember their names, but they gave me a chance on a 10k job. They told me at the end how pleased they were, it gave me confidence in asking for big things in business.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

What it takes to market a business and book jobs. I’m still a big believer in smart free marketing (I go restaurant to restaurant) for my business and rarely pay for advertising.

How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?

Met great people I talked to every once in a while but wish I did more.

If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?

Teaching what you need to learn before you think you need to.
