Intern (Current Employee) - Ames, IA - September 9, 2018

College Works Painting is not for everyone. It was one of the hardest internships I could’ve taken freshman year summer at 18, but was the best experience possible. I learned so much about myself and strengths and weaknesses. I learned so much to do with marketing, sales, client complaints, managing workers, etc. I am a business major and I learned so much valuable information in the field.

This internship requires motivation and self-discipline. You have the opportunity to set yourself up for incredible success in the future, opportunity to make more money than you thought you would be able to make as a full time college student, and go on vacations that you will remember forever. The hardest summer of my life, was the best summer of my life. I thank College Works for the opportunity that was given to me.

Painter/Laborer (Former Employee) - Bettendorf, IA - August 14, 2018

It was great but long hot days in the summer sun but the pay is worth it and it’s very relaxing and it was very flexible with time and being able to fit your schedule with the project schedule

Donovan Lowkeen (University of California, Irvine)

I entered the program as an inexperienced but eager freshman at the University of California, Irvine. I was extremely excited to be a part of a program that has the capacity to develop essential business skills like management, leadership, communication, and organization.

Kyla Hunts (University of California, Irvine)

I became an intern for College Works my junior year after being introduced to the program by Therese and hired by Rob. Throughout the interviewing process I became aware that this experience would be the most challenging and rewarding one of my college career.

Steve Lanzi (Sacramento State)

Aside from the skills I learned, the overall experience built my confidence and taught me how to deal with stress. Although this program was difficult at times, it made me a stronger person. Another major thing I got out of the internship is a whole new network of people that are motivated, hard workers with lots of potential.

Brett Tobin (University of Massachusetts, Amherst)

Sticking with the internship and pushing through the hard times are what have helped me gain the experience that I have. Success started to come with the hard work that I put in.

Jeremy George (University of California, San Diego)

In my first year at UC San Diego, under the mentorship of Rob, I developed and executed a business and marketing plan, built relationships with over 35 clients, managed 12 employees and ultimately ran a $95,000 business.

Kevin Kankel (University of California, Davis)

At the end of the day, I’d definitely recommend this program for anyone who wants to see success later on in life. Through all the life lessons I’ve learned, skills I’ve built and friends I’ve made, this has been a life-changing experience. Thank you all so much for the experience you helped me to get; this is something I know will help me out so much in my own ventures.

Kayleen Feeney (San Francisco State University)

I did not know College Works’ company culture was not only an environment for learning but for an opportunity for networking. I have met and built the best relationships with other college students as well as many executives.

Vivian Teran (California State University Long Beach)

At 19 I already have developed skills that most 30 year olds are still trying to figure out. This program along with the support of my Regional Consultant has given me the tools to be successful in my future endeavors and put me ahead of the learning curve when it comes to being a well paying career…
