District Manager (Current Employee) - La Plata, MO - September 4, 2020

Working with college works has been one of the best things I have ever done. I learned so much, so many skills, and accomplished things I never knew I could. College Works give young men and women a chance to learn management skills and apply them in real life scenarios while you manage your own painting company with your own employees. These skills you learn at a young age puts you higher on the latter. These management skills that you learn while still in college, some people never get a chance to learn and if they do its most of the time when they are older. Having the understanding and Management skills at a young age, and managing your own company at a young age makes you very valuable!

Savvy business, great people–CWP motivated me to become a better professional and I always looked forward to coming in to work. If you are considering working for this company–go for it!

Project Manager (Former Employee) - St. Louis, MO - July 13, 2017

Very fun office and your actually working as an Project Manager. One bad thing about it was that you have to at least get one sale a week and that was hard unless you really push the sale on the customers. I didn’t like pushing the sales on the customer. If they didn’t want to go with us even after learning all the benefits then they didn’t want it. So if you didn’t make that quota you will be fired. Still in all it was a great experience and I recommend people to work here

Entrepreneurship Internship (Former Employee) - St. Louis, MO - January 29, 2013

I could not have asked for a better internship opportunity in college. Being an entrepreneurship major, College Works gave me the opportunity to manage and operate my own small business. I was responsible for all marketing activities (cold calling, direct selling, etc.), interviewing/hiring paint crew, payroll, inventory management, cost controls, etc.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with employees and trying to manage all the paint jobs I had arranged for the summer. The harder you worked the more jobs you had lined up. I had to complete 36 residential exterior paint jobs in a 3 month window. I finished #2 in the entire Missouri/Kansas/Nebraska division. The rewards far exceeded anything I could have imagined.
