College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting was the training ground for my career.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

It gave me the step by step of what I do everyday. I got multiple offers for sales roles since College Works Painting because of my experience, and was hired right out of college during Covid into a sales role. Now 4 years in have won multiple sales contests, finished top 5 in company sales, and am able to manage multiple installation teams any given day.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

My clients were awesome. I don’t remember one in particular’s name but she touched base for a few years after to see my progression in my career. She gave me a 3 page reference letter that was incredible.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

Be confident in yourself.

How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?

I’ve been to weddings, attended parties my friends DJ’d, and networked jobs.

If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?

It’s more than painting.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

It can’t hurt to try. Whether that is trying the internship, trying to market door to door, or trying to be intern of the year. You can only lose if you don’t try.

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

College Works Painting gives experience to marketing, sales, project management, and even financial management. My career deals with all of those. In the future even more so as I get into management.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Believe in what you are selling, don’t back down because of a few “No’s”, and be confident.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

Spending time with some of my best college friends in Cancun.
