Growing up in a small town of only 2000 people and no stoplights, Matt wanted to escape as soon as possible. Moving to Madison, he found many valuable lessons to be learned there, including what kinds of things would and would not make him happy.
He started out doing Engineering in college but quickly realized that, while he was an analytical person, this wasn’t the career path that would make him happy. A challenging situation involving his mother and the purchase/foreclosure on a house led to an epiphany and a switch to a relatively new field – financial planning.
