CW: 2016-2020
Immediately after graduation I had absolutely no problem getting a job. I never had an interview that didn’t conclude with an offer. At first I pursued sales roles in various industries, but ultimately I wanted to find something I could take ownership of and get back to the business owner mindset I had with College Works Painting. When I interviewed to join Farmers’ agency owner program I was the youngest this region had considered. Although I had experience in many things, the primary focus of our interview was my experience with College Works Painting, and how it directly translates to what I wanted to accomplish again. I am constantly practicing the skills I learned during my Internship. I fully believe I am in the situation I am today because of College Works Painting.

Creating opportunities for my staff to make life changing money.
Realtor
Industry: Real estate
College Major: Business
CW: 2017-2018
College Works Painting is a love hate. With hard work comes great reward. College Works Painting is no different to real life. My manager was Austin Killian and he was tough on me but I truly believe everything he taught me about door knocking, cold calling, self sourcing leads, getting reviews, managing home renovations from the project perspective to the clients emotions and their money to how to work with the crews and hiring is exactly what I do today. This was all introduced to me from College Works Painting. I tried TWO other jobs right out of college that were sales based: one inside sales (phone) and outside (door knocking face to face) and neither of them taught me even a fraction of what College Works Painting did. After my short 6 months trying those two jobs, I went to become a realtor and haven’t looked back since – now 5 years later.

The skills I learned gave me what I needed to make it in the real world. I make more than both of my parents combined, travel and take off days whenever I want. I donate to my church in Arizona – Christ Church of the Valley so that they can continue to provide to those less fortunate than I am . The fact that I can give 10% of my income to church or charity is a different level of peace and freedom many do not have. I make +200k as a 27 year old for perspective and am completely self employed.

College Works Painting was able to get me out of my shell. I was able to find the things I was truly passionate about. I was able to see that there is nobody there to get you to the goals you want. You have to do it yourself. Sure there will be people there to guide you, but no one will do it for you. This will apply to your whole life.
What has been your proudest accomplishment post-CW?
I’ve stopped believing in accomplishments the way most people do. They feel like artificial milestones, things we use to make ourselves feel good about progress that, in reality, might not be all that significant. At the same time, they have the ability create a sense of comfort that leads to complacency. No matter where you are in life, there’s always someone doing better. For me, the one thing that actually feels rewarding is knowing how far ahead I am comparatively to others in the general population. That perspective keeps me motivated.
Transporation
Industry: non-profit

I was brought on as a district manager after my intern year. I was then brought over to a division of College Works Painting that was called ISM. From what I understand, ISM and the work that we did helped see College Works Painting through the pandemic when we could not meet with customers in person.
What has been your proudest accomplishment post-CW?
It’s a bit cliche, but I would definitely say my children. When I started with College Works Painting, I was a non-traditional student with three boys, and now I have three girls on top of that. I’m also very blessed to work in a job that fulfills me, and doubly blessed than my wife also works for another non-profit that she enjoys as well.

What has been your proudest accomplishment post-CW?
One of my positions I was working at a company called CyberCoders. In the middle of my first year I became a top performer in Q3 throughout the whole company. I made about $50,000 in a 3 month time period. On a personal note, I have completed 75 Hard 3 times since being done at college. How does this correlate? If you are a high caliber INDIVIDUAL that is what’s going to lead to more success than just a normal skill set. Your confidence, self belief, intellectual curiosity, etc. can separate you from everyone else.
